Day two

So I normally have two days off in a row.  But I had yesterday off and had to go in for a mandatory meeting today.  Talk about an early wake up!

So, I got up at 4 am.  Woke up my mom, so she could get the kids up and ready for school.  Then I got dressed and left for the meeting.  The meeting took over an hour, and I literally drove into my driveway at 7 a.m. My mom left then to take the older kids to school.  I drove the younger set.

I spent the day being extremely tired.  Thank god I don't have to work tonight!  I cooked dinner, and am now watching tv w/ the kids and chillin.

Day 1

Ok, so you read "fast food mommy" and you are thinking "this mom feeds her kids only fast food?" Well, you are wrong. This is not about feeding your kids. This is about a mommy who also happens to work in the fast food industry!

Alright, I will not be naming names of people or the company that I work for, because I cannot lose my job. As crappy as it might be, it is keeping me off of the unemployment line!

Lets face it, we live in a horrible job economy. Stay at home moms are now leaving the home and having to find work, but guess what? When you are out of the workforce for a long time, your resume suddenly becomes non existent. I am a great example. When I left the work force, I was the head of customer service for a major retailer, I was receiving benefits, and was working full time making pretty decent money. But the kids started rolling in, and after a few years, it became obvious that I could not afford to work and pay for childcare. I was literally working to pay for babysitters. That seemed pretty dumb. So, me and my husband decided to have me stay home and take care of the kids. It worked out for years, but my husband lost his job, and the job market became pretty scary....

So, I started applying for waitressing work while my husband went back to school using his military education fund. I took a bartending class, but that was a wasted 500 dollars. I got a job as a waitress that promised to turn into a bartending position, but after a year and a half, it never happened. I ended up quitting that job. Then I got a waitressing job in a Mexican restaurant. Started out great, but after a few months, my hours became non existant. I was beginning to think it was me, but I was receiving great tips, so I wasn't sure. I work hard. I kill myself for my employers!

Finally after dealing with this crap for years, I applied to a fast food company that I worked for back in high school. They hired me within two weeks. That is where I am now. This blog will be about me, a mommy, that is a stay at home mommy by day, and works a drive thru window every night. It has ups, it has downs. Be prepared for a bumpy ride, you will not be disappointed!
